Do you take money from big pharma?
Do you consult for big pharma?
Yeah, Kirsten sounds great, but does she accept money from big pharma?
These have been some of the latest comments from trolls on my facebook page. It started with an accusation that Dr. Ned Hallowell is in the pockets of …again… big pharma. My question to the troll was, “You have access to Dr. Hallowell’s bank statements and tax records?” Silence….
Silly me! I thought that would end it. But now the trolls are creating clever screen names and inserting all kinds of ridiculous accusations on my page. As one of my awesome followers pointed out…”if you know anything about Kirsten, you know she is neither for or against medication. These are just rumors.”
First, I am a psychologist, not a psychiatrist. I jokingly say, “I’m trained in hugs, not drugs.” When it comes to using medication for ADHD, I see the benefits both personally and for others. But I also think it is a personal choice and there are many other ways to manage ADHD symptoms- for instance Play. Hey- isn’t there a book about using play to manage ADHD?
If you are seeing the remarks about my affiliation, or anyone else’s, to big pharma, ask yourself “What does this really mean?” Who is saying this? How do they know? How does this affect me?” And, whatever you do, don’t respond or comment. Trolls seem to feed on any response they get- positive or negative.
If you are a troll you will be banned from my page. It’s just the way it is. I do not endorse any negativity. It does not activate my brain- it shuts it down. Makes it harder to focus, feel motivated, and attentive. Trolling exacerbates my ADHD.
